SmartThings Simplifies Process to Mass Certify Partner Products
SmartThings, Samsung’s global connected living platform, announces a strengthened partnership with Philips Hue, one of the premier smart home companies specializing in lighting, security, and controls. Philips Hue used the SmartThings Developer Center including the Certification by Similarity program, to easily certify 155 additional products as Works with SmartThings (WWST).
SmartThings’ ecosystem enables seamless connectivity across a wide range of smart home product categories. With these additional Philips Hue lighting products, users gain access to an even broader selection to simplify life, enhance enjoyment, and create powerful automations with other Works with SmartThings products.

To help partners reach Samsung’s global user base, SmartThings has invested in multiple tools to make integration easier. In particular, SmartThings has expanded the Certification by Similarity program making it easy for partners to certify whole portfolios of products easily and quickly.
Once certified, Works with SmartThings (WWST) provides co-marketing and go-to-market benefits for partners. These include showcasing products in the SmartThings app & online with retail purchase links and collaborating with digital content and campaigns, PR opportunities, and events to promote the brand to the Samsung SmartThings audience.

SmartThings continues to invest in the Developer Center and recently added tools for partners such as Test Suite, Product Cloning, and Certification by Similarity to simplify product integration and certification for a single product of an entire portfolio. After integration, Analytics helps partners gain valuable product usage insights. Additionally, as a leader with the Matter standard, SmartThings has made it simple to certify Matter products.
